Grade 6

As the culminating year of the JTD experience, Grade 6 students have much to look forward to as the leaders of the school.
Students in Grade 6 continue to learn in the departmentalized model by subject, moving from class to class throughout the day. Grade 6 students are organized into two sections of approximately 24 students for their classes. Students begin and end each day in smaller advisory groups that provide a home base for Grade 6 students. The Grade 6 year at JTD features many beloved traditions: the Surprise Pajama Breakfast, the Grade 6 vs. Faculty Volleyball and Softball games, The Grade 6 Musical, and dunk tanks and pie eating contests at the JTD Fair.
Leaders of the School
Grade 6 students serve as role models to younger students.
They help lead Morning Assembly; serve as mentors in our Family Program; are elected as officers on the Student Council; or serve as leaders in the debate program, the school newspaper, or the Upper School Service Learning Club.
