Ms. Helm Hosts Virtual Movie Night!

By Malia Gregory
Who says you can’t have a socially distanced Movie Night? Since “taking office” in 2017, Mrs. Helm has hosted an annual Movie Night. On these epic evenings, students in all grades arrive on campus, armed with sleeping bags and pillows, dressed in their finest sleep attire, ready to set up camp in JTD Hall. These pajama parties include pizza, popcorn, a photo booth, games, and of course, a movie! While we’ve been successful at adapting other in-person events so they could occur virtually, many wondered if the same could be done for Movie Night. As it turns out, Virtual Movie Night could not only be done, but it was wildly popular and a massive success!
On Friday, November 6, over 75 families tuned in over Zoom for Virtual Movie Night with Mrs. Helm. The evening began with a Let’s Dance party, where students (and even a few brave adults) showcased their hottest dance moves. After that everyone cooled down by watching some cartoons. When everyone had their fill of Bugs Bunny, party-goers broke into breakout rooms for a virtual scavenger hunt that had everyone searching as fast as they could for a variety of household items. After the hunt everyone was ready for more cartoons. After an evening filled with so much entertainment and fun, we’re pretty sure most attendees were asleep by he time the Roadrunner said his last “Meep Meep.”
