Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day Goes Virtual!

Every fall on the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, throngs of JTD grandparents and special friends visit the JTD campus to get a taste of a typical JTD school day. Guests enjoy a special program, before joining their favorite JTD student for morning classes--participating in art projects, science experiments, and classroom activities. 

While health and safety precautions prevented JTD from welcoming students and guests to campus in Fall 2020, we weren't about to let go of this special tradition. So on Tuesday, November 24, we welcomed our grandparents and special friends to virtual classes! 

Because this year's event was online, grandparents and special friends from near and far were able to attend--some joined from the other side of the world! Guests heard remarks from Head of School Rose Helm and watched a slideshow of photos from the school year, before joining their students in their Zoom classrooms. Students were able to share what is like to attend school virtually--collaborating and sharing with their guests in special interviews, collaborative projects, and more. It was a day for all to remember.
