Controller

The John Thomas Dye School, an independent K-6 school located in Los Angeles, is currently seeking a full-time Controller. The John Thomas Dye School’s Mission Statement is as follows: “We look to each day with a commitment to inspire purposeful learning, cultivate character, and celebrate childhood.” The School is fully committed to a culturally diverse faculty and student body.

JOB SUMMARY: The Controller is responsible for the daily functions of the Business Office. Duties include managing the monthly close process and ensuring timely financial reporting, Student Billing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable supervision, General Ledger supervision, Treasury Management, File/Archive supervision, Audit & Tax preparation, Business Office compliance support, Payroll support. The Controller is a strategic partner assisting the DFO with the preparation of the financial statements, budget, projections, benchmark statistics, financial/dashboard models, providing support during Board of Trustee Committees, and other critical financial and operational needs of the School. The Controller supervises the Business Office support staff positions and liaises with the Parents’ Association on financial related business.
